Baby Bumbles Update

We are pleased to announce that on Christmas morning we opened our envelope and found out that we will be blessed with a ........Girl!

We confirmed it with another ultrasound on Monday, December 27th.  We are so excited for this new blessing and can't wait to meet her.  We have chosen to call our new little girl Bug.

The bottom of Kimber's left foot.

Even though we are high risk our pregnancy is going great.  We are at 20 weeks as of Christmas Eve, so we are half way through.  We received a 3D/4D ultrasound for Christmas, so we are excited for February when we will go and have it done.

Kindergarten Weeks 12 - 15

I'm sorry that I have been missing lately, but with the holidays I have been way to busy.  On top of the usual gift buying and wrapping Bee and I baked 20 dozen cookies and 4 loafs of banana bread.  Bee was my sugar roller and banana smasher.  I am going to do a quick wrap up of the weeks we missed in December.  Thank you for your patience.

Week 12
Welcome to Green Eggs and Ham week.
Do you like green eggs and ham? That is the question of the week and the beginning of the silliness.

This book is great no matter how many times you read it and it's fun for the kids to help "read" too. The rhyming words make it easy.

This week for our craft we made a color wheel and discussed how mixing primary colors makes new colors.

Week 13
The Little Fir Tree by Margaret Wise Brown is a beautiful example of a father's love for his son.  The pictures are beautiful and Bee loved it.

This week for Craft we made our own Jesse Tree. It was a new idea for us and we really enjoyed not only the pictures but also the daily readings that went with it.

Week 14
What would your true love give to you?  A traditional Christmas Carol turned into a beautiful book.  Jan Brett illustrated the Twelve Days of Christmas.  Glory did enjoy the book, but some of the days were out of the order that she was used to.

For Craft this week we found a 12 Days of Christmas coloring book and Bee made her own book.  She loved being able to show off her book to the family.

Week 15
What happened the night before Christmas?  It isn't truly Christmas until you read The Night Before Christmas.

This week we learned about reindeer and Bee drew a picture of one.

I'm sorry this post seems so crazy but I hope Week 16 will be better. Stay tuned for the week of the moon and bats.

Day 30
I am thankful for ultrasounds.  There is something truly wonderful about being able to see a baby while it's still inside of it's mother.  I love being able to see our little one moving and being able to hear it's heartbeat. I can't wait until Christmas to find out if we are having a boy or girl.

Thank you for joining me in my month of thankfulness.

30 Days of Thankfulness - Days 25-29

Day 25

I am thankful for this blog.  I enjoy being able to put down my thoughts and even vent my frustrations any time I want.  I also enjoy the comments that my AWESOME readers take time to leave.

Day 26
I am thankful for blog hops.  I enjoy finding new blogs to read and new readers for my blogs.  My favorite blog hop is Hip Homeschool Hop which is hosted by Sue at The Homeschool Chick.  I enjoy finding great new blogs about homeschooling.  You never know who has a great project that you might want to read some day.  I recommend you check out Sue's blog and join the Homeschool Hop every Tuesday.
Day 27
I am thankful for Netflix.  We don't have cable or satellite to try and save on money, but we have Netflix that we can watch instantly on our TV using our Wii.  It's nice to watch several episodes without commercials.

Day 28

I am thankful for our public library.  It is so nice to have a place to borrow books, DVDs, and CDs from.  I loving being able to go online and place our book of the week on hold for homeschooling.  The librarians at our location are very helpful too.

Day29

I am thankful for my cell phone.  I have T-Mobile's G1 and I love it.  I use the Google maps on it all the time and it helps me find where ever I am going in the Kansas City area.  I use the games to keep my daughter entertained for long waiting times for appointments.

30 Days of Thankfulness - Days 18-24

Day 18

I am thankful for cookbooks with pictures.  I love cookbooks! I own several and enjoy looking at new recipes, but there is nothing better then cookbooks with pictures.  There is something wonderful about the beautiful pictures that they put in cookbooks.  I think that there should be a picture for every recipe in a cookbook.

Day 19
I am thankful for quiet days at home with the family.  There is nothing better then sitting around with the family and watching a movie.

Day 20

I am thankful for beautiful sunsets.  There is something so peaceful and beautiful about sunset.  It's like one last sigh before the world goes to sleep.

Day 21

I am thankful for hand written notes and letters from loved ones.  Is there anything more exciting then getting a letter in the mail.  I'm not talking about an ad or a bill, but a honest to goodness letter.  I know it's uncommon for people to write letters, but I love getting them.  There is something wonderful about getting that envelope with your name on it and wondering what that person has to say.  I have made an effort this year to send out letters or cards instead of an e-mail when I think of someone.

Day 22
I am thankful for my Mom.  My Mom is a wonderful, yet crazy woman.  She chose to become a single parent by adopting 4 children on her own, me being the first.  I can not believe the dedication this woman has and I hope some day that I can be like her.

Day 23

I am thankful for Morning Glories.  I love them.  They are my favorite flower, but as any farmer will tell you they are a weed.  I love morning glories because they appear so delicate and fragile, yet they are very sturdy and resilient.

Day 24
I am thankful for Cherry Coke Zero.  I have gestational diabetes and I have a very restricted diet.  I am not allowed to drink regular soda, which is difficult for me because I love soda.  I am only allowed to drink diet or the zero soda, which is a big problem for me because I can't stand the taste of them.  I was so excited when I tried Cherry Coke Zero and like it.  I have a soda that I can treat myself to!

Kindergarten Week 11

Welcome to the week of Thanksgiving.

This week we read Rhonda Gowler Greene's "The Very First Thanksgiving Day."  Bee enjoyed looking at all of the illustrations. I would recommend this as a great read for anyone.

This week in Phonics we added "G" to the mix and ended the week with a review of our words. This week in Math we learned "12" & "13" and reviewed our addition families.

     This week our verse is:
They stript Joseph out of his coat;
his coat of many colors.
Genesis 37:23

This week for craft we made a hands and feet turkey.  This is a super fun craft. You trace the kids hands for the feathers and trace their feet for the body of the turkey.

Tune in next week for Green Eggs & Ham.

Baby Bumbles Udate - 11/18/10

I just got some scary news today.  I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes.  I am doing my best to remember that God is in control.  Being pregnant and hormonal does not help with trying to stay calm.  I am going tomorrow to a diabetic specialist to learn all about what I am going to have to deal with.  I  would appreciate any prayers you could send my way.

Kindergarten Week 10

Welcome to the week of the pancakes.

See what happens when a boy wakes up and has a craving for pancakes.  "Let's make pancakes," the boy says to his mother through out the whole story.  "Pancakes, Pancakes!" by Eric Carle is a wonderful book.  It is beautifully illustrated in Mr. Carle's usual style.

This week in Phonics we added "I" into the mix.  We also read a short story and did some review tests.  This week in Math we reviewed our 4 family of addition and learned "11."
This week our verse was:
Thy name shall be Abraham;
for a father of many nations have I made thee.
Genesis 17:5

For our craft we made pancakes!  This was Bee's favorite part.  I don't know if she enjoyed mixing them or eating them more. I believe this week was a hit

Join us next week for Thanksgiving Week!

30 Days of Thankfulness - Days 15-17

Day 15

I am thankful for Christian Radio Stations.  My husband and I are both huge lovers of music.  We enjoy singing along to the radio in the car.  We have been blessed with a daughter who loves music too.  She can hear a song once and be able to sing all the words.  This is where christian radio, like K-LOVE, is so awesome.  It is such a blessing to hear her singing along to the worship music.

Day 16

I am thankful for Christmas Music.  There is no type of music I love more.  There is something totally awesome about how it makes you feel.  I want to burst into song right now.  All I need is some snow and hot Coco.
Day 17

I am thankful for Hot Chocolate!  Some days it's yucky outside and you feel blah, but hot chocolate can make it all better. I love mine with little marshmallows.
