On the Road Again

Join me, Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers , and The Homeschool Mother's Journal  as we recap our week.
Hey y'all! was your week? My week was a busy one. The girls had their last Tae Kwon Do lessons this week.  The girls are both interested in taking lessons when they start back up in September. We should be started with our new school year by then.

The girls woke up Thursday not feeling well. They were pretty much down for the count the whole day. This made a busy day turn into a stressful one. Mr.Mister  wanted to snuggle with them, but I was worried about them sharing the bug. I also needed to do laundry, pack, and do some last minute shopping. I'm sad to say it wasn't  my best mommy day. There were plenty of extra naps and the kids went to bed early.

Friday morning didn't start out on the best foot, I fell down a couple of stairs and almost took Mr.Mister with me.  I did my best to finish packing and loaded up the van. The drive was mostly calm with only one,"I need to go to the bathroom right now," unscheduled stop. We did hit rush hour right as we got to Kansas City.  All  the crazy road construction made the short time we were in it tense. When we got to the in-laws' I realized I forgot to pack my toothbrush and my glasses. Not my finest moment,  but at least  it wasn't something the kids needed.
The got to play in the backyard and, "run around like wild hoodlums." Pray for our safety and my sanity for this road trip.

Until next time,

Are we done with Rush Hour yet?

Hey y'all! How was your week? Our week has been sweltering. We have been experiencing triple digit temperatures all week.  This makes for some very crabby people in our home.  It's too hot to take the kids outside to play and get rid of their energy.  I did manage to get them to the park early Wednesday morning to check out a local co-op. I believe we may give it a try.  We have never joined a co-op before so this is uncharted territory.

I have the last week of this month slated for a road trip for me and the kids.  We are trying to get another visit in with friends and as much family as possible. I have one road trip planned, but I'm waiting for some information tomorrow to finalize it.  If things don't go as hoped, then I will have to come up with an alternative route. I'm open to any suggestions.

I have finalized one road trip for the family in August.  We are going back to St. Joseph for Mr. Daddy's high school reunion.  It's about the same time as the tax free weekend for school supplies in Missouri, so I'm excited.  Kansas doesn't have a tax free weekend.

Mr. Daddy and I also have a week of vacation scheduled in September.  We don't have any plans set because it's possible that it could be canceled.  We are trying to come up with some ideas that don't require a lot of planning and reservations in advance.

Until next time,

Planning for after Rush Hour

Hey y'all! How was your week? My week was spent mostly on planning.   We are currently considering homeschooling year round but we are not sure how that would look for our family.  I sat down with both of the girls' curriculums and tried to determine what school supplies we will need.  I am also worried about how I will keep Mr. Mister busy during school time.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The girls have been busy with Tae Kwon Do lessons.  They both seem to enjoy it and as of right now they want to continue them during the school year.

We still have two road trips to plan and take.  I know I'm dragging my feet, but now I need to make these trips to get school supplies and enjoy some activities we don't have here. Wish me luck.

Until next time.

Sitting in Rush Hour

Hey y'all! Happy Independence Day!  I hope this past week was pleasant for you.  It was a little stressful for me.  Mr. Daddy was gone for training for 3 days and the kids were fussy while he was gone.  It makes me wonder if trying to plan any trips is a good idea.  If the kids behave worse then normal is it really worth the time, money, and stress of going anywhere? I'm probably just over thinking things.  I'm hoping to get a trip to Kansas City and maybe a trip to St. Louis to see my sister.

We have started back to school on a very small dose.  Bee is finishing up some Latin and Bug has started reviewing her letters. They are both excited at the prospect of new school supplies.  I hit the $1 and $3 section of Target and got some pencil bags, dry erase sleeves, and stamps. I can't wait for the big school supply sales to hit.

We ended the week with a trip to the Emergency room.  Mr. Daddy started out Friday morning feeling like he might be getting an UTI, but by the afternoon new he needed to see a doctor.  After several hours in the ER and a CAT scan they sent him home with pain meds to pass a kidney stone.  Please keep him in your prayers. I hope you all have a safe and happy 4th of July.

Until next time,
