Hey y'all! How was your week? My week was a little rough.  I struggled with fighting sickness all week.  I never really got outright sick, I just felt super tired and couldn't focus at all.  Sad to say but we spent several days just surviving and not really doing school work. Now on to our homeschool week.

Bee really enjoyed taking a bit of a break while Mr. Mister and I fought with being sick. She worked well, but I believe her favorite part of it all was doing crafts with Bug.
Bee and her fall corn.
She is still avoiding "Adam of the Road" like it's the flu.  She usually LOVES reading, so it's really hard for me to understand why she wants to avoid this book.  Hopefully this week will go better.

Bug learned the letter "F" and the number "5." She seemed to figure out how to write them very quickly.
Bug doing her best fish face.
She enjoyed doing crafts with Bee and Mr. Mister.  She is getting really good at using scissors.

Mr. Mister has Mr. Mister had some health issues this week also.  Tuesday morning a zit like spot showed up on his little bum.  I called his pediatrician and they got us in right away.  She put him on some antibiotics, said to soak him in a warm bath 3 times a day, to hope that it resolves on it's own.  We made a second trip to the pediatrician later in the week and finally ended up in the ER on Friday night.  Mr. Daddy had to drive out and meet me, after working a 14 hour day, to watch the girls.  They had to lance the abscess, drain it, and pack it with gauze.  They were really good to make sure Mr. Mister wasn't in any pain during the whole process. He's recovering nicely.

He felt well enjoy to enjoy some crafts by the end of the week.

Well, that was our week.  Thank you for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment.  I love hearing from y'all.
Until next time,

The Homeschool Weekly Buzz - September 19, 2015

Hip Homeschool Hop as we recap our week.

Hey y'all!  How was your week?  My week was rather busy.  I had signed up to be a shopper for National Consumer Panel, but had forgotten about it until I got an e-mail stating I had been selected and a scanner was on it's way in the mail.  I was ridiculously excited to be selected.  You provide feedback about what you buy in exchange for points that can be spent in their gift catalog.  By scanning the items you buy you are entered in drawings for vacations and other items.  If you are interested check out their website and sign up, here.

After our week of vacation we had a relatively smooth transition back into homeschooling. The kids did relatively well, but I felt like I was dragging all week long.  I really need to get myself into a doctor's office and figure out what's going on.  I have tried looking before, but no one seems to be taking new patients right now.  The frustrations of living in a small town.  Now on to our homeschool week.
Bee struggled to stay one track at the beginning of the week.  Math seems to case her problems.  She isn't struggling, she says she's bored with it.
Bee working on Spanish.
She is truly enjoying learning Spanish.  Rosetta Stone's Spanish is really working for her.

Bug is still in love with Preschool.  She wants to "do school" whenever her big sister is working.  This week she learned the letter "C" and the number "4."

She continues to work on writing her name and gets better with every try.

Mr. Mister has been working on occupying himself while his sisters do their homeschool work.  He is up to about ten minutes.
Mr. Mister staying busy.

Hey y'all! How was your week?  We had an enjoyable week here. We took the week off for Mr. Daddy's last vacation of the year.  We spent several days just hanging out around the house and watching movies.

We celebrated Mr. Mister's 2nd birthday this week.  It's hard to believe he's already two.

We had a very small family party with gifts and cupcakes.  He had a lot of fun licking the icing off his cupcakes.  He also celebrated by starting to get his molars. Poor fellow.

We took a short road trip to Wichita.  The kids had a lot of fun playing at an indoor playground in a mall.

The simple things in life make them happy.
We visit the Exploration Place and the kids had a so much fun.

Everyone got to play because they had areas for the younger kids and Bee too.

Bee got to learn about flight and how it works.  Even though we didn't "do" school they all learned something.

We also got some new family pictures.  Mr. Mister was feeling crabby due to his molars coming in, but we got some great pictures.
My Favorite Family Picture.
Well, that was our week.  Thank you for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment.  I love hearing from y'all.

The Homeschool Weekly Buzz - September 5, 2015

Hey y'all! How was your week?  My week started off on a happier note.  Sunday afternoon I heard one of our traps go off! Lucky for me Mr. Daddy bought the traps that you don't have to see the mouse and you just throw the whole thing away.  One mouse gone and we haven't seen or heard any more since then.  Here's praying they are gone for good.

On another happy note my new van door handle arrived yesterday.  I was feeling brave, so I decided to put it on myself.  I am happy to announce my door handle is on and it wasn't too difficult.  It really makes my week when I can save money for my family do something myself.

Next week we have a vacation coming up.  Mr. Daddy and I have no plans made yet.  We have talked about a couple of different options, but haven't finalized anything yet.  We may just have a staycation.  Now on to our homeschool week.

Bee is moving right along through 5th grade. She wasn't happy about not being able to print off her composition work.  The funny part of Bee is she doesn't always want to do her work, but when she does, it has to be perfectly compete.  She is really enjoying her assignment notebook.  I can't remember where I read the blog post, but a  mom used a regular composition notebook to write down her kids assignments.  She would write out one day of assignments at a time.
I bought Bee a cute composition book at the beginning of the year and write out her assignments so she can mark them off.  Bee likes having a weeks worth of assignments at a time.  It's a super simple idea, but it really works.
Bug is doing surprisingly well with Preschool.  I'm surprised with how well she is sitting still for her lessons.  I honestly thought it would be a battle.  I'm still trying to figure out how to do her week.  The printer being out of ink has caused plenty of problems.  I leaning towards 2 days of Memoria Press curriculum, 2 days of review work using extra workbook pages and 1 day of catch up.  This week all the kids wanted to do the Letter "D" craft.

It was a cute paper bag puppet of a dog. We used wiggly eyes to make them extra fun. They didn't last too long because brother loved the eyes so much he ripped them off all of the dogs the next day.
Mr. Mister had an exciting week.  His birthday is next week, so this week was full of planning and gift shopping.  He had a package arrive from Oma.  He was so excited about the box that he could care less about what is inside of it.

Isn't that how all 2 year old are?  I'm sure he will enjoy the empty box too.
Well, that was our week.  Thank you for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment.  I love hearing from y'all.
Until next time,
