The Homeschool Weekly Buzz - October 31, 2015

Hey y'all! How was your week?  My week felt like pure craziness.  I spent a lot of time and energy filming for my YouTube channel only to discover I had very little usable footage.  You live and learn.  I'm hoping it will get easier as I do it more often.  I decided to post a video, even though I'm not completely happy with the results.
The kids had a super hero dress up day for Awanas.  They decided to make up their own super heroes instead of trying to be an existing one.

Meet Fox Girl, Owl Girl, and Super Cute! It was fun and they really enjoyed it. Now on to our homeschool week.
Bee really seems to enjoy her new literature book, The Door in The Wall.  She is doing great and got a good grade on her midterm test.  She did get a slow start on her school work this week, but caught up by the end of the week.
Bug did great with school work this week, but has been full of sass.  She is really pushing the limits of the household rules. It would be one thing is she was just being sassy, but she is being unsafe.  She's climbing things and teaching bad habits to Mr. Mister.
Mr. Mister is following the naughty path of Bug.  He's not listening and climbing things. He is really making this mama tired trying to keep him from getting hurt.

Well, that was our week.  Thank you for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment.  I love hearing from y'all.
Until next time,

The Homeschool Weekly Buzz - October 24, 2015

Hey y'all! How was your week? My week was crazy.  I spent the first part of the week in serious pain.  Looking back at the symptoms I think I had a gallbladder issue.  I'm feeling much better now.
We celebrated Mr. Daddy's birthday this week with two days off from school.  We had originally planned on a day trip, but he decided he wanted to just hang out at home.  I made his favorite dinner of meatloaf, homemade macaroni and cheese, and honey glazed carrots.  I also made him a marble cake with chocolate frosting.  It was just a box mix, but I followed a recipe from Pinterest to, "make it better."  It was AWESOME! You use butter instead of oil, milk instead or water, and add an extra egg. Check out the pin here.

I'm proud to say I finally started my YouTube channel.  My first video is really more of an introduction, but more videos will follow soon.  I believe I'll start with some day in the life videos, maybe some product reviews, shopping hauls, and Bee has show interest in doing some where I'm from videos.

Now on to our short homeschool week.
Bee did great with her short 3 day week. She really worked hard to be able to enjoy two days off.  She has been stressing about "catching up," even though I have explained several times that we have planned this time off and she isn't behind.  We are also planning on taking off a day for her birthday in November.
Bug was not very happy with only getting three days of school this week. She has asked when we are doing school next every day.  I hope she carries her love of school with her throughout her school career.
Mr. Mister has really been a hand full.  I never had the terrible twos with the girls.  They became very sassy at three. I guess terrible twos are a boy thing, at least in our home.

Well, that was our week.  Thank you for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment.  I love hearing from y'all.
Until next time,

The Homeschool Weekly Buzz - October 17, 2015

Join me, Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers, Parent Teacher Meet-Up, and The Homeschool Mother's Journal as we recap our week.

Hey y'all! How was your week? My week was a rather rocky. First I came down feeling yucky, sinus troubles, migraines, and a pinched nerve in my shoulder that made my arm tingle. I woke up several mornings with migraines so bad I wanted to climb under the covers and not come back out.
Mr. Daddy was as helpful as he could be coming down with a cold himself.  I pulled myself out of bed and took the strongest over the counter medicine that wouldn't knock me out completely.
While I was attempting to recover, and carry on, I spent time searching YouTube.  I wondered if I had anything to say that wasn't already out there. I know there are great homeschool moms on YouTube like Jamerrill Stewart or AFarhouseFull.  There are even brave new vloggers like 6inthemix.  I'm sure there are more homeschoolers like me who sometimes feel very much alone in their everyday life.  I'm not a Pinterest perfect mom, I'm just a mom trying to make it work every day. I just have to find the time to get started. Now on to our homeschool week.

Bee has had a busy week. She is caught up in all of her classes and finished Adam of the Road with a 97% on her final.
She was excited to be caught up and has started to show some interest in YouTube videos.  After watching a video, from Life Where I'm From, she thinks she may want to do some videos of her own.  I guess we will have to see what happens.

Bug has had a great week.  She has done very well learning the number "8" and the letter "H."
We didn't get to do any crafts this week, but maybe we can do one this weekend.

Mr. Mister has really been acting up this week. I'm not sure if it's recovering from being sick or just a toddler mood swing.
He has been more clingy than snuggly this week.  It doesn't help when I don't feel good and don't want to be hung on.

Well, that was our week.  Thank you for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment.  I love hearing from y'all.
Until next time,

The Homeschool Weekly Buzz - October 10, 2015

Hey y'all! How was your week? My week has felt like it has gone on forever. All the kids have been dealing with colds for most of this week.  I have spent most of my days wiping noses and telling people to cover their mouths.  This has really slowed down my ability to catch up on things from last week.

Something has really been laying heavy on my heart lately.  I really feel lead to start a YouTube channel. I have no idea how I would make it work.  Weeks like this one makes it hard to even have time to type a blog.  How would I find time to record videos? Please pray for God's guidance in this. Now on to our homeschool week.
We really seem to be struggling with our curriculum this year.  I'm not sure if it's Bee having a hard time, or if the curriculum not longer works for us.  My child who LOVES to read is struggling with literature.  She doesn't seem to enjoy the time period the story is written in and I'm too busy, trying to keep track of Bug and Mr. Mister, to really introduce her to it.  History is a struggle for the same reasons. I never cared much for history myself, so  I can't say I'm surprised. We have finally reached a point in math where she is no longer bored and things are moving smoothly.
Bug is really loving Preschool and is doing great.  She wrote her name all by herself this week! She is a little behind due to being sick, but I know she'll catch up quickly. We are a couple of crafts behind, but I can always add those to this week.  She asks to "do" school every day.  Let's hope things continue this way.
Mr. Mister has been sick and grumpy this week. He seems to be turning into a little man over night.  He keeps me on my toes.  He is constantly getting into everything and pestering his sisters.

Well, that was our week.  Thank you for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment.  I love hearing from y'all.
Until next time,

The Homeschool Weekly Buzz - October 3, 2015

Hip Homeschool Hop as we recap our week.

Hey y'all! How was your week?  My week was spent mostly playing catch up from last week.  Why does it seem like it doesn't take long for the house to get messy, but it takes forever to get it back to clean.
I started out the week on a happy excited noted. Mr. Daddy encouraged me to spend some money on myself, so I did.  I signed up for the Fandom of the Month Club! You can learn more about it here.
Some of the past month's boxes.

Basically, you get a box once a month with 3 or 4 pieces of fandom inspired jewelry.  It's always a surprise what the fandom is. I'm super excited, total geeking out, and can't wait to get my first box.

The other thing I did for myself was to buy myself some new shirts from ModCloth.  ModCloth has some really great retro inspired clothes and cute jewelry.  Check them out here. They arrived on Friday and I LOVE them.  They are super comfy and fit great. My only bad thought about them is the fabric is so thin I will probably have to wear a camisole under them.

The weather has suddenly decided to turn cold in our area.  This sends me searching the closets and storage totes for pants and longs sleeves that fit.  Mr. Mister has outgrown all of his 12 mo. pants and some of his 18 mo. pants.  (He's a skinny little thing with a longer torso and shorter legs.) It's a good thing I have plenty of hand me down pants from my sister in 18 mo. and 24 mo. size.  Bug has also outgrown her 3T pants, but her skinny self is not really fitting in 4T pants.  So, we got some 4T hand me downs that have adjustable waists and roll up her pant legs. Bee hasn't outgrown any of her pants from last year, I think it's because they were large on her last year.  Now on to our homeschool week.
Bee did her best to try and catch up from last week and get done with this seek stuff too.  She still has plenty of this weeks work left over.  We did an experiment this week, i
Bug did a great job catching up from last week and completing this week.  She reviewed her previous letters and learned the number 6.  It was t rainy for us to go on a fall walk  or collect any leaves for our craft project.  Hopefully we will be able to get that done next week.
Mr. Mister is feeling better this week.  He is giving his sisters all sorts of trouble.  He loves to get into their stuff.  He's been on a BIG baby kick this week.  He's been telling me and Mr. Daddy he wants a baby brother.  Since an addition to our family has been a topic of recent discussion between us, Mr. Daddy swears I've coached him.  It's super cute.

Well, that was our week.  Thank you for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment.  I love hearing from y'all.
Until next time,
