The Homeschool Weekly Buzz - August 20, 2016

Join me and Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers as we recap our week.

Hey y'all! How was your week? My week was busy and full of craziness. I started this week off by scheduling dental and optomistrist appointments for the kids, a well child check for Mr. Mister, and an appointment with a new OB/GYN.  I also managed to get eight pounds of hamburger cooked up, bagged, and frozen.  This was no small task considering the smell of raw hamburger is yucky to my pregnant nose.

I was able to get in to see my new OB this week and I got to see the baby kicking and moving around via ultrasound.  I really like my new OB, Dr. S.  She really makes me feel comfortable and safe.

We ended our week with some news about some big upcoming choices that we have to make.  We are trying to walk by faith in this situation, but would love your prayers  Now on to our homeschool week.

Bee did well this week.  She really stayed focus and was able to move smoothly through her school work.

Bug had some problems staying on track this week and struggled to finish her work in a timely manner.

Mr. Mister has struggled with not distracting his sisters while they are trying to do school work.  The upside is he has done a great job with potty training this week.

Well, that was our week.  Thank you for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment.  I love hearing from y'all.

Until next time,

Week 11 Pregnancy Update - August 14, 2016

Hey y'all. We are officially 11 weeks pregnant.  There are only a couple of weeks left in the first trimester!

I am considered high risk due to several factors, including advanced maternal age, high blood pressure, pre-eclampsia in previous pregnancy, gestational diabetes in previous pregnancy, and concern with the possibility of shortening cervix.  This means I will be watched more closely then the average pregnancy. I have already been seen twice.  I have an appointment in two weeks for another ultrasound to check cervical length again,  I will also have to go in again two weeks after that to do a glucose test.

I was a little thrown off when I called to make my first appointment and was told the OB who delivered Bug and Mr. Mister no longer does deliveries.  After discussing it with Mr. Daddy we have decided to look for an OB closer to us.  It has been a long and difficult processes, but hopefully we have found an option.  I'll have to let you know next week.

Well, that's the update for the week.  Please pray for our family and the baby.

Until next time,

The Homeschool Weekly Buzz - August 13, 2016

Join me and Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers as we recap our week.

Hey y'all! How was your week? My week was SUPER excitiing. It is with great pleasure that we share, we are expecting #4!  We will be 11 weeks on Sunday, the 14th.  We decided to wait to tell people until after our first ultrasound.  On Thursday we got to see our newest little one.
This pregnancy is so much different from every other one.  I have been so nausous. Combine that with my "advanced maternal age" we were a little worried that we were carrying twins.  Mr. Daddy and I breathed a sigh of relief when the technician said there was only one.  Now on to our homeschool week.

Bee had a good week for the most part.
She has struggled with staying on track and not taking forever with her math.  It can be so frustrating since she understands what she's suppose to do, but finds it, "too boring" to do it quickly.

Bug got to read a couple more very short sentences this week.
She is so proud of herself, but wants to learn faster.  I think we have another lover of reading.

Mr. Mister did better this week with potty training, but not as good in sitting during "school" time with his sisters.
Mr. Mister is super excited to become a big brother.  At first he wasn't too sure about a baby, but now he's excited.

Well, that was our week.  Thank you for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment.  I love hearing from y'all.

Until next time,

The Homeschool Weekly Buzz - August 6, 2016

Join me and Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers as we recap our week.

Hey y'all! How was your week? This week went really smoothly.  It is sometimes hard to keep myself on task when we start the school year early.  It's sad, but true.  Sometimes even Mama wants to slack off.  I'm hoping next week we can add in Wiggle Workshop at our local library.  Now on to our homeschool week.

Bee had a really good week. She's doing well in all of her subjects, but seems to be really excelling in her piano lessons.

She's doing so well, we are looking at having to purchase a new electronic keyboard for her. It would be great to get her a real piano, but we move to much for that.  I'm looking for a used weighted keyboard with pedals for her.

Bug had an exciting week. She ready her first sentence, "I am Sam." She was so excited, she had a hard time going to sleep that night.

She is doing great concentrating on her school work and staying focused during "school." I only wish I could say she was listening well the rest of the time.  She just has so much energy it's sometimes difficult to keep her busy while Bee finishes her school work.

Mr. Mister really seems to be struggling with his potty training this week. One day he woke up dry and stayed dry all day, and the next we went through most of his shorts and underwear.  The frustrating thing is he usually does very well when we are not at home.  Pray for me to have patients while I wait for things to "click" for him.

Mr. Mister is still doing well with entertaining himself while his sisters do school work.  He is rather excited that he gets to "do" Preschool next year.  Let's hope his enthusiasm last until next year.

Well, that was our week.  Thank you for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment.  I love hearing from y'all.

Until next time,

The Homeschool Weekly Buzz - July 30, 2016

Join me and Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers as we recap our week.

Hey y'all! How was your week? My week seemed super long.  It was our second week of the school year and we started off with our air conditioner not working starting Sunday afternoon.  We made a quick call to our landlord, but he wasn't able to get someone to come out and check it until Monday afternoon. We are not the type of people who do well without air conditioning, so Mr. Daddy got us a hotel and then treated us to a movie Monday morning.  It took until almost dinner time for the house to cool off.  This put off our school week by one day, meaning we had to have a make up day of Saturday.

I had a doctors appointment this week and my doctor is really happy with results of my medication change. It's always nice to hear good news from the doctor. Now on to our homeschool week.

Bee really struggles with trying to stay of track this week.  The one day off really threw her for a loop.  She did really well in her piano lessons this week.

Bug is really loving Kindergarten.  The bonus her being the second child is she wants to be just like her big sister, so she's in a rush to "grow up."

Mr. Mister is doing well playing by himself while the girls do school work at the table.  It's hard to believe that he will be doing Preschool next year.

Well, that was our week.  Thank you for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment.  I love hearing from y'all.

Until next time,

The Homeschool Weekly Buzz - July 23, 2016

Join me and Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers as we recap our week.

Hey y'all! How was your week? This week was our first for the 2016-2017 school year.  We decided to start our school year very early in hopes of avoiding a repeat of last year.  With the surprise move and then my surgery we didn't finish last year until the middle of June.  We have no current plans to move, but God works in mysterious ways.

I have been blessed with a wonderful doctor who worked hard to try and figure out what is wrong with me medically. I didn't get labeled with Subclinical Hyperthyroidism.  I'm still trying to figure out how this affects me and what changes I need to make in my life.

Now on to our homeschool week.

Bee is in Sixth Grade this year.we are using Memoria Press again this year, but we decided to not use the complete curriculum.  This is the second year she is using Rosetta Stone for Spanish, she seems to be doing well.  We are using the Spelling, Math, American Studies, Science, Composition and two of the Literature books.  She also managed to sweet talk her Grandma into giving her piano lessons this year.  Mr. Daddy's mom was an elementary music teacher, so we are really blessed in this situation.  I'm also hoping for her to get some swim lessons.

Bug is in Kindergarten this year. We are using the Memoria Press Kindergarten curriculum. She is super excited to be learning to read.  She wants to be able to read books all by herself, just like Bee.

Mr. Mister is doing really well this year. He will sit at the table with his sisters and color while they do school work.  It's really nice to not have to chase him down and keep him out of trouble, while trying to teach the girls.

Well, that was our week.  Thank you for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment.  I love hearing from y'all.

Until next time,

The Homeschool Weekly Buzz - February 27, 2016

Hey y'all! How was your week? I'm sorry I have been missing, but I have been dealing with more personal health issues, as well as sickness hitting our home.  Everyone has recovered from sickness and I'm in the middle of testing to find a diagnosis for my personal health issues. Now on to our homeschool week.

Bee has managed to sweet talk Grandma into giving her piano lessons.  Mr. Daddy's Mom is a retired elementary music teacher.  She had taken lessons previously when she was 5, but had to stop when we moved away from her teacher.

Bug has been full of sass these past couple of weeks.  She's been getting into all sorts of trouble. She's doing great learning numbers and letters, so I should be happy she's not fighting me with school work.

Mr. Mister is in the thick of the terrible twos.  His newest trick is throwing things off the table when he has decided he's done eating.  I have spent plenty of times this past few weeks cleaning up food off the floor.

Well, that was our week.  Thank you for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment.  I love hearing from y'all.

Until next time,

The Homeschool Weekly Buzz - February 6, 2016

Join me, Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers, and  Parent Teacher Meet-Up as we recap our week.

Hey y'all! How was your week? My week has been a little crazy, but first let me catch you up from my last posting.  We were only an couple days into our Christmas break when we found out Mr. Daddy had received a promotion and we would be moving again, this time back towards Kansas City, KS.  This was exciting and stressful news for me, and then the second shoe dropped.  They wanted him to start by the 15th of January.  This turned our two week Christmas vacation into four weeks.

We were lucky that Mr. Daddy had three days off right after Christmas so we would have time to try and find a new place to live.  Christmas eve, after church service, we let the kids open their presents.

They we excited to get to pen their presents early, but not so happy to find out they would be spending Christmas day making the seven hour drive to look for a house.  It wasn't the most fun we have had on Christmas, but we made it safely. We were very blessed to find a really nice house with a large yard to rent.  We had the application approved, the deposit and first months rent paid, and were back on the road by lunch time.

I spent the next couple of weeks trying to pack as everyone but Bug caught a cold.  We made a trip to the ER because Bug got a concussion, falling out of a shopping cart, the day before we had to load the truck.  Only by the grace of God did everything get packed up, moved, and unpacked.

After a week I had most of the house unpacked when, after a long night of pain and sickness, I made a trip to the ER.  This was not part of my plan for this Friday, I wanted to prepare to start back to homeschooling on Monday.  I spent all weekend the hospital and had my gallbladder removed on Monday morning.
Hospital Food
Mr.Daddy and I were so blessed to be close to our family and friends.  They helped us keep the kids from running a muck and let Mr. Daddy be with me when I woke up from surgery.  Thank you Grandma, Grandma and Grandpa B, Mama Rosie, and our Sweet Southern Friends, you are a blessing.

So, our planned two week Christmas vacation turned into six weeks.  Now, on to our homeschool week.

Bee seemed almost relieved to be back to her school work.  I didn't  assign any Spanish for her this week, but told her to review her previous lessons.  We did have to remind her to giver herself grace and we are homeschooling year round now.  She was worried about "catching up" and was starting to drive everyone crazy.
She really enjoyed the kids workshop at Home Depot.  I'm pretty sure it was the highlight of her week.

Kimber was really excited to get back to work.  She didn't have much trouble picking up where we had left off.
I had found some fun new activities for her to participate in at the local library and she thought it was just awesome.

Mr. Mister did not do well, having to be separated from me. He was fussy and clinging, which causes problems when you can't pick up anything and have a tender stomach
By the end of this week he is mostly back to his normal self. He enjoyed the kids workshop at Home Depot too.

Well, that was our week.  Thank you for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment.  I love hearing from y'all.

Until next time,
